Psycho Pass 2 Episode 6-8 Analysis

You know what? I was wrong about something. There are a couple of good things about this season. The main thing being the two missions that the detectives have had to do, but what this show lacks is that it feels like it won't matter too much in the long run. In S1, everything felt like it leads up to something and it did! We'll see, if the ending sucks then this show will be a 3 or a 4 (depending on what we'll see) but if it gets better then this then it might even be a 6!

I just realized that Mia is the same girl who got her friend killed in S1, that was really cool! But, the show did not a good job of making me remember that.

One thing I can also appreciate is the fleshing out of two minor characters in the first show. The psychologist and the philosopher. I think that these two have gotten more of an important role and explanation to their characters and that's rewarding since I really liked these two characters (especially the philosopher) and wanted to see more of them.

The villain in the show also doesn't suck as much as I thought he did. The problem was just the way they introduced him. And he still feels like a lesser version of Shogo. But what made him so interesting is how mysterious he was, at first it felt like there where just random crimes happening, but there was one mastermind behind all of them and that didn't get revealed until episode 9. However, in this season they introduced Kirio instantly and then they showed the crimes he committed, I think that this makes the crimes less suspenseful as well as making the villain feel more boring. And much like Shogo, he felt isolated from society since he wasn't recognized as a member of the sibyl system.

We still don't know his motive, but we do know that he is the sole survivor of a plane crash. And since then, he has made robotic clones of the victims and he has somehow infused there brains and personalities into him.

There is one problem with this season that I haven't yet addressed and that's the lack of development in the plot and the old characters. Here's the thing, even though Akane is a badass here, she was a badass in the last 3 episodes of S1, even though Ginoza is much calmer and collected, this was shown in the last episode, even though they're new characters, this was shown in the last episode of S1.

It just feels like a lot of the potential excitement that this show could've brought was already brought in the last 3 episodes of the original season.

Okay..

So, I finished episode 8 and this is actually getting really interesting. Joshu Kasei is Toganes mom and Togane was more or less a test subject from the AA, which is the project where they morphed Kirito and all of the victims into one single body. Mika has now found this secret and has realized that both Kogame and Kirito are similar as they're both villains. Since founding out about all of this, she is now going to be told the secret of the sibyl system.

This was interesting since it exposed a lot of the corruptness that exists within the police department.
